the leftovers in the teapot
the noodle water
the half a cup you or someone else didn't drink
If you choose to not water the plants with it....
use that leftover tea and add it to your coffee
use the boiling noodle water to cook your vegies then cook your noodles either with them in or scoop them out
then, use that same nutrient filled water the next day to make soup
We don't use no stinking chemicals to clean our home
why would we want to fill our house and lungs up with toxins?
we use diluted vinegar and water on just about everything.
I use baking soda to scrub pots
Our old coffee grounds go into the flower pots
our bananas get frozen if we cant eat them fast enough, makes them perfect for smoothies
our tomatoes that are starting to wrinkle but are still good...go into the noodle pot I mentioned earlier. they get cooked right along with the noodles and mash into the sauce nicely.
we recycle!
when the peanut butter jar is empty, it holds our coffee we bought in bulk
when the fig butter jar is empty (god forbid!) we go buy more
but when the spaghetti jar is empty, we head off to the market and fill it with granola
we do ride the bus whenever possible and if its not, carpool! traveling's more fun when done with a friend :)
we choose to work close to home
less travel time equals less gas used and less pollutants in the air
we eat out at our neighborhood cafes and take home our leftovers to become tomorrows lunch
lights only go on when needed
TV's are off unless watched which means we visit more!
Hot wheels and books require no batteries...
thrift store clothes are just gently loved and ready to be worn by another
We are constantly finding new uses for old things.....
I have a broken laptop...Im thinking of removing the guts and revamping it into a briefcase of some kind....oooo the ideas I get.....
